Kerry has worked with
children and adolescents with a wide variety of difficulties but has
particular interest and specialization in the following areas:
Autism
Developmental Disabilities
Learning Disabilities
ADHD
Anxiety Problems (including OCD)
Mood Problems
Parent Child Conflicts
Behavior Management Difficulties
PHILOSOPHY: Kerry uses
an eclectic approach to treatment but believes that any treatment
involving young people should include the following:
Treatment should include the people who are important in the child's life, especially parents.
Treatment should be individualized to the child's age, developmental level, learning style, and family needs.
Treatment should focus on helping the child learn effective coping techniques to more positively face life challenges.
The Wilmington Psych play room has activities that meet the needs of children of all ages and developmental levels. Come by at a quiet moment and you may catch Dr. Boeker and Dr. Hogan playing Battleship!
Kerry also treasures the opportunities she has had to collaborate with colleagues worldwide such as at this conference in Bologna, Italy.
One of Kerry's favorite hobbies is photography. You'll see many examples of her pictures in the Wilmington Psych offices.
