Insurance: Like one-third of American psychiatrists, Dr. Boeker conducts business on a fee-for-service basis. This means that he does not accept health insurance for payment, nor does he accept Medicaid or Medicare. He
nevertheless treats patients who have health insurance, but it is the
patient's responsibility to seek reimbursement from their health plans. At
the end of each appointment, Dr. Boeker’s patients pay their fee and
are given receipts (which include service code and diagnostic code
numbers) which they may file with their insurance companies to apply
for reimbursement.Due to current federal government
policies, Dr. Boeker regretfully does not treat any patients with
Medicaid or Medicare, regardless of their willingness to pay
out-of-pocket for their care. Financial arrangements: Since
Dr. Boeker’s patients are solely responsible for payment for their
treatment, he asks that they accept the following terms: 1)The patient should be able to pay in full for their treatment. 2)Payment is due at the end of each appointment. 3)The patient has a right to a receipt for payment, as described above. 4)Payment may be made by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard (credit or debit cards). 5)The patient must give at least 24 hours notice by phone if he or she wishes to cancel an appointment. 6)If a patient misses an appointment, or cancels on short notice without a reasonable excuse, a $70 fee will be charged. 7)If an insurance company is reluctant to reimburse a patient, Dr. Boeker will see what he can do to iron out the problem.
